Partouche Poker Million

Congratulations to Pedro Rodrigues, winner of the first live satellite of Partouche Poker Million Portugal.
The 29 year old, who hails from Sacavemin Portugal, became the first player to win his 3,300€ buy-in for the PPM Final, due to take place from 20th -24th August 2010 at Casino Estoril.

A few words from the winner:

How long have you been playing poker?
I discovered Texas Hold'Emon an online site about 3 yearsagoand that'show I learned to play. Since then I'vedecided to specialise in tournament poker instead.

What did you think of thistournament?
I really liked the structure. In saying that, it's still a satellite as the level of the blinds increase quite quickly. That's why I resorted to a rebuy and the add on to secure my place in the tournament. But investing the 210€ was worth it (110€buy in + 50€rebuy+ 50€add on) to win this 3,300€ ticket.

How are you feeling about taking part in the PPM Main Event?
Obviously I'm really pleased and I'd like to thank my partner Luisa who supported me all the way. I must admit, I think I've got a good chance in the competition. I always play to win!

What advice would you give to players taking part in the PPM Satellites?
You need to know how to keep your head. Play assertively but stay calm whilst the blinds are small. And you must always keep a notion of the pot and know how to calculate the level of risk when entering a hand.
